An Actually Attractive Drop Ceiling

What to do with the oh-so ubiquitous and painfully ugly acoustic tile drop ceiling? Thankfully, it’s a surprisingly easy fix!

Woodtrac turned the woe into WHOA :) take a look…

This home office has a very low ceiling - only 82” so the white, generic tiles were really in your face. The trim pieces add less than 1” and give it just the right amount of depth and interest. The ceiling is still the first thing people notice, but now everyone raves about the richness it brings to the space. I took these snapshots with my phone, but this project is slated to be photographed, so I’ll update this post when I get those professional pictures.

Here are the other finishes and molding profiles available:

The tiles are double-sided, so the samples are shown on both Abbey Oak and Bank Alder. The finishes in order fanned out are: Shaker White, Cobblestone (solid gray), White Plank, Chalked Chestnut (light gray stain), Salt Oak (med gray stain), Espresso, Abbey Oak, and Bank Alder.

A word of warning - these are VERY heavy pallets and 13’ LONG tubes that arrive in a full-size semi truck. They will stop at the end of your driveway and expect you to unload. (oy, life lessons!)

I highly recommend ordering thru a supplier that offers white glove delivery. They will safely bring everything into the room you want. Save your time, your back, and possibly your relationship ;)

If you have any questions or are interested in an estimate, I’d be happy to help.

This home office had the standard, painful, acoustic drop-tile, and due to the 7' ceiling, it commanded all one's attention.

Now, the ceiling is the star of the show!

Here’s the home office ceiling in it's original, hideous state.
